| 16 y-o kids cannot drive without an accompanying adult for a predetermined period. If caught driving alone during that period, their license is revoked. Also, they have a reduced number of demerit points available, so any two minor offenses or a single major one results in a revoked license. Kids should be treated as kids IMO, no matter how "mature" of a 16 y-o you are.
